Just got a call from this number not long ago. When some robotic voice began saying it was HMRC, I quickly ended the call. If HMRC needs to get in touch, they always send a letter first. Best to just ignore and cut the call.

On the 1st of December 2020 at about 10:13, I got a call from 01280474152 using a digital voice. It was clearly a scam, with all this urgent talk about legal troubles if I didn’t respond quickly. Definitely don’t ring them back, as HMRC wouldn’t handle matters like this by phone.

I phoned the number and was greeted by a man with an Indian accent claiming to be from HMRC. He said I owed a big tax bill but couldn't even get my name or business number right. I found the whole thing so ridiculous I just chuckled before he ended the call.

got a call from some bloke called Dennis Grey claiming he was from HMRC, total scam. didnt pick up and just blocked the number straight away. watch out, dont fall for it!
