I got a voicemail claiming to be from Visa’s fraud team, saying there was an unusual large charge made abroad on my account. When I pressed the button to report it as suspicious, I was put through to someone who already knew my name and asked for my date of birth to 'verify' my identity. I told them I wanted their phone number first so I could check they were genuine before sharing any personal info. They said that was fine but then asked for some details anyway. I repeated that I needed their number upfront to confirm who they were, and then the call just cut off straight away.
