I'm pretty convinced this is some kind of scam.

This is definitely a legit NHS number. Just booked a CT scan for my lungs through them, gotta check for cancer. Not a scam at all.

Received a few texts first, then got a letter about some lung cancer screening scheme. The letter had my NHS number and the same phone number that was texting me. They also had details about my GP and even my landline number at home. Besides the usual stuff like my name and address on the letter, they wanted my date of birth too. They also asked if I smoked now or ever, which I haven't, so I didn't meet the criteria. Felt a bit of a waste really.

I've been getting texts telling me to ring a number or click on some link, but honestly, don't fall for it. The NHS would always send letters through the post, not messages like this. It's definitely a scam!

It seemed a bit dodgy to me, maybe even a scam. Honestly, you should only share your personal health details with doctors or medical staff who are actually treating you. Just watch out and be careful!

So, apparently my doctor passed me on to them? They asked loads of info like my name and address, but there’s no way I’m giving that out just like that on the phone. I told them to send something in writing, then ended the call and blocked the number again (this is the second time I've had to do that). Just checked and it seems a bit dodgy, something fishy is going on here.

This number isn’t a scam at all. I was asked a few health-related questions over the phone, then offered an appointment for a mobile CT scan unit that was parked outside Asda in Stevenage. When I got there, a nurse carried out some simple health tests before doing a chest CT scan. The idea is to spot people who might be at risk of lung cancer, and if you meet their conditions, they send you an invitation for the scan.

I figured it could be legit, so I decided to check the number. Turns out, you might end up sharing quite a bit of personal stuff. I also rang my doctors’ office to double-check, so just a heads up to everyone.

I got a call from someone saying they were from Healthcare, connected to my doctor’s office, offering this early lung cancer screening thing. I told them no cheers and ended the call.

I picked up when the phone rang and they started talking about some lung scan thing they'd mentioned before. I told them I was tied up and just ended the call. How on earth did they get hold of my number? Only my GP surgery should have it, so I asked them. Of course, they just went on about 'confidentiality' like usual. Then I asked if they send texts since apparently everything’s supposed to be online now (typical NHS stuff). They said yes, that’s what they do. Honestly, it felt like just another dodgy cold call trying to pull something.

Seems legit to me.

I got a call about some “lung check,” but when I rang my own GP to find out more, they said they hadn’t heard anything about it. Seems a bit dodgy to me, so I’m not trusting it till my doctor confirms it’s legit.

I got a phone call regarding a government health screening thing, after I had a message from the NHS about joining in. Since I had a heart attack a few years back, I reckon they’re doing some kind of research to check how folks are doing health-wise after serious illnesses. The person calling had an Indian accent and was a bit hard to understand, but she was mainly asking if I planned on joining the scheme. I told her I’d probably do it later but was too tied up right now. I’m leaving this call as neutral in my book.
