The call showed a local area code, so I made the mistake of answering, breaking my usual rule of not picking up unknown numbers. It turned out to be a recorded message claiming to be from my bank, but with a local number on display. Banks these days don't use local numbers anymore, they all go for 0345 or similar. This definitely felt like a sneaky scam. From now on, I’ll definitely just ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise!
