Some bloke rang claiming to be from Openreach at BT, saying there was an issue with my phone line. I hadn't noticed any problems and definitely hadn’t reported anything. Then he asked if he could link his BT server up to my laptop to perform some checks. I told him that sounded a bit risky and asked for his number so I could ring back later. He said he got why I was worried, but insisted that was the only way to find the fault.
