4 yearsI received a rather dubious phone call at about 9 this morning from an automated voice claiming my Amazon Prime membership had lapsed, with a threatening charge of £95 looming over me! The thing is, we don’t even have Amazon Prime. The voice urged me to press 1 if I was dissatisfied, which I did, and I may have walked right into a scam. An Asian gentleman responded on the line, demanding to know who I was. My husband, rather unimpressed, told him he had called us instead. The man then insisted on gathering my email address and other information, but my husband firmly told him to send a form instead and promptly hung up. Now I’m left feeling anxious about having pressed that button-will they hit us with some sort of premium charge? Our area code is 01278, so I didn't think much of it at the time.
