There was quite a bit of racket in the background, and then I heard a brief snatch of conversation in a language I didn't recognise. After that, it all fell silent, so I decided to end the call.

Got a call claiming to be from HMRC saying I owed back taxes. They wanted to know if I was working, which seemed odd because I figured they’d already know that. When I pressed them on it, they just cut the call straight away. Definitely felt like a scam to me.
