I got a call from a woman with a really thick accent, sounded like she wasn’t from around here. Right after I picked up, she said I was the kindest person she’d spoken to all day. It was a nice start, but I didn’t stick around for long and ended up hanging up pretty quick.

Got a phone call from a really polite man, sounded Indian and said he was calling from the UK. He already knew my name and address, which was a bit creepy. He asked if I owned the house and if I was a player in something like the postcode lottery. I told him I didn’t take part, and he never once pushed any sales on me. Quite a strange but harmless chat really.

Just like loads of other folks have said, they ring up, want to know your name and then suddenly cut off. Honestly, best to just block them straight away.

I received a call from someone who had a distinctly foreign accent-possibly Asian, if I'm not mistaken. It felt quite robotic, to be honest. When I picked up, it greeted me with a simple "Hello." I echoed back the same greeting, and just like that, the call dropped abruptly. Quite peculiar, really!
