It appears to be a company dealing with loft insulation, if I'm not mistaken. They've been using area codes associated with Brentwood, Louth, and Lancaster. I've managed to block all the numbers they've called me from up to this point.

The call got terminated because I didn't recognise the number, and they rang me back straight away. I decided to hang up on them once more and subsequently blocked the number altogether.

They rang me two times today. I answered on the second ring and it felt like one of those dodgy energy survey scams. Even though the number was local, the voice on the other end definitely sounded like it was from an Indian call centre. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

I attempted to speak to the individual but received no response. Apparently, the call originated from some Brentwood number. They’re a complete nuisance! If you ever see that number pop up on your phone, don’t even think about answering. Just go ahead and block it immediately! Total waste of time!

Not sure how this fraudster ended up with my phone number, but the only place I can think of is that Postcode Lottery survey I sometimes do. They ask all sorts of stuff about your job, hobbies, and house. I always put nonsense answers in, yet somehow they still have my number. I’ve now blocked the caller and uninstalled that lottery app from my phone. Honestly, these scammers need to find something better to do with their time - like a real job or something!

Some bloke rang me up without saying who he was. First thing he says is, 'Do you even have phone manners?' I was like, who’s this? Then he just kept pushing for my personal details. I kept saying I was about to hang up. Asked him a few times who he was but he wouldn’t say a word. Quite creepy if you ask me.

I received a call regarding loft insulation eligibility. Initially, it was an Indian gentleman on the line, followed by someone who sounded more British. They had my basic information, which isn’t particularly hard to find. They didn’t pry into anything more sensitive. When I mentioned my loft had been converted, they assured me I’d be removed from their list. Could be a legitimate offer... or not. Best play it safe and avoid committing to anything, especially the survey they proposed.

I was already on a call when this number popped up, so I called it back hoping to catch who it was. All I got was some automated message saying the caller couldn’t be reached. Tried ringing again but they didn’t pick up, now the number’s vanished completely. Looks like one of those dodgy prize draw scams. Blocked and deleted straight away.

Scam alert: I never pick up calls from numbers that aren’t saved in my contacts. If it’s important, they’ll leave a voicemail for me to ring back, simple as that. No message? If all the people in the UK who get bombarded with these rubbish texts and calls every day actually did what’s suggested, the police and government would have to step up and tackle this nonsense properly. Don’t just expect others to sort it. It really doesn’t take much time. I’ve bookmarked the 'action fraud' site and even shot an email to my MP - got a pretty cheeky reply too. Someone calling from “Energy Trust” rang me, sounded like a bloke named Norman with a strong Asian accent. What really creeped me out was that he already had my full address and name. He asked if I was anywhere between 45 and 79 years old, then said I qualified for a complimentary loft insulation check. After that, he put me through to his "manager," who started talking about foam insulation. I told them straight away I wasn’t interested in foam, and they just ended the call.

Someone called me saying they were from some energy saving scheme, wanted to see if I could get a discount on my bills. They already had my name and address which was a bit odd. Then they asked if I was aged between 35 and 70. I told them no, and they just cut the call right away. Very strange!

Got a call from someone saying I owed back taxes, but then gave dates when I was working full-time and had been paying my taxes properly! They insisted I cough up £70 straight away or I'd face court action. The guy was really pushy and rude. When I said I thought it was a scam, he just slammed the phone down after threatening ‘you’ll be arrested.’ Bit of a laugh to me, but I reckon it might fool some folks, so watch out.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Barry Wilson, sounded like he had a thick Indian accent. Said he was with BT Openreach Stoke and offered £250 as compensation for the hold-up with our phone and internet setup. He wanted us to go on fastsupport.com so he could sort out the refund, but it’s clear that’s a con to get remote access to your PC and mess with it. BT told me this is a common scam. What’s really weird is how the bloke knew we were getting our broadband installed today in the first place!
