The call was coming from somewhere closer to Bengal than Brentwood, for sure. These fraudsters use bogus UK numbers that get spoofed, but most of the time they're actually operating out of places like India, China, North Korea, Russia, and other countries known for criminal activities. Any scam calls or texts like this really need to be reported to the UK police via the 'Action Fraud' website so they can keep track of phishing attempts.

Got a call earlier from someone saying they were from Carphone Warehouse, offering some sort of £30 a month deal on the latest iPhone. The lady on the line had a really thick Indian accent, so it was tough to catch everything she said. I just cut the call short. The number appeared to be from Brentwood on my caller ID, but after hanging up, I looked up the official Carphone Warehouse number for Brentwood and it was totally different. Honestly, didn’t expect anything else.

YET ANOTHER PHONE SCAM PROMISING FAKE DEALS!! Reported!! Seriously, everyone should step up and report this fraud. Info is below. It’s always the vulnerable or those unaware who fall for these tricks, and the rest of us just get fed up. The only way to put a stop to this is by reporting every single time. Lets overwhelm the police with complaints about these scams - right now they probably don’t realize how bad this problem really is, hitting loads of us almost daily. Phone rang briefly for like 15 seconds then stopped. Didn’t leave a voicemail. Not sure why they called, and after reading what others say, I reckon it’s best to just block the number.

Instantly knew it was a scam, he claimed he was ringing 'from your network provider'. When I asked which one, he just repeated 'your network provider' and said he’d give me a discount because of recent poor service. I honestly asked again since I have a few providers, and he got really annoyed, saying 'if you’re not serious, I’ll hang up'. I said alright bye, and he ended with telling me to 'f off'.

Look at the banner right at the start of this page, it shows who owns this number. I've come across loads of scam reports linked to these tech and network firms. It seems like their services end up getting used by scammers somehow. I reckon any scam calls should be reported straight to the police through the action fraud site, like it says below, and pop the owners name of this dodgy number in the comments box.
