Got a call from someone saying they were O2 and that my SIM would be disconnected in two days unless I got a new one. They kept asking for my info but I just said they already had it. Ended the call, but then they rang me twice more - I just put the phone down each time.

My phone showed this number was a scam when it rang. So I just let it go to voicemail. Checked it out on this site afterwards and I’m really happy I didn’t pick up.

Got a call from someone with a thick Indian accent claiming my Amazon account was hacked. The accent immediately had me suspicious. I didn’t hold back and told him to stick a curry where the sun doesn’t shine. Classic scam attempt, luckily I saw right through it.

Looks like a dodgy call to me, best not pick up and make sure your line isn't getting tied up.

Got a call from a woman asking to set up an appointment for thermal insulation fitting at my house. I said no thanks and then blocked the number.

Got a call on my home phone earlier today. I usually leave it to the answerphone to pick up, and these calls always seem to cut off before the full message plays. If it’s an automated system that kicks in right after you pick up, it will normally record whatever message it tries to leave. If you do happen to take the call and they start asking you to download some app on your phone or computer, just don’t do it. That’s how they take control of your device and get access to your personal info. I recommend checking out BBC’s Scam Interceptors - it’s really enlightening.

Heads up! I just got a robo-call telling me I needed to renew my Amazon Prime subscription for some fee. Thing is, I don’t even have an Amazon Prime account, so it sounded fishy right away. Definitely blocked the number and reported it. Don’t fall for this one!

Someone called claiming to be from the "bank security team," but when I asked them to specify the bank, they quickly changed it to "Visa security." Honestly, it just felt like a total scam to me.

I too received a rather dubious call concerning my Amazon account.
The telephoned originated from Brentwood. Interestingly, my tracking device has revealed the precise coordinates - I now know the very building and the shabby office from which this individual operates. A few mates and I are considering dropping by for a little chat, equipped with a couple of firearms and some tools to ensure they remember our encounter. It’s high time we stood firm against these con artists - we owe it to ourselves to make sure they’ll think twice when they look in the mirror. The moment has come to take a stand and safeguard our interests!

On 9/5/23 I got a call from 07484318025 and today a different number, 01277287707 rang me. Both times, it was the same automated message claiming there was some dodgy activity on my Amazon card for £300 and a bank transfer of £1,100. They told me to press 1 to stop the call or 2 to speak to someone. I always choose 2, tell them what I reckon, which cheers me up a bit, then block the number. The first call was from a guy, and today it was a woman, both with heavy foreign accents.

Just yesterday, on the 5th of September, I received a call from 07484318025, and today it was 01277287707. The automated message was identical, claiming there was some dubious activity linked to an Amazon purchase worth £300.00 and a bank transfer of £1,100.00. It goes on to suggest pressing 1 to terminate the call or pressing 2 to chat with a representative. Naturally, I always opt for 2, share my true feelings about their antics, which certainly gives me a sense of satisfaction, then promptly block the number. The first caller was a chap, while today’s voice was that of a woman; both sounded like they weren’t from around here.

Just yesterday, on the 5th of September 2023, I received a call from 07484318025, and today it was 01277287707. Both times, I was greeted by the same automated voice droning on about fraudulent activity linked to my Amazon account, mentioning a suspicious £300 charge and a bank transfer of £1,100. It then instructs you to press 1 to end this utter nonsense or 2 to chat with someone in customer service. Naturally, I opted for 2, gave them a piece of my mind-which certainly made me feel a tad better-and subsequently blocked the number. The first caller was a chap, while today it was a woman, both clearly not from around here.

Exercise caution with this lot! I inadvertently shared my phone number seeking information about bitcoin, and ever since, I've been bombarded with calls from countless firms. I've resorted to sending them all to voicemail and simply blocking the numbers. It's been an absolute nuisance, especially as this one company has persistently tried reaching me for nearly a fortnight, ringing from the same base number but with various last digits: 7704 7706 7707 7708.

Definitely a con artist. I blocked and steered clear of them.
