So this number called me asking to speak with the owner about some power outages, which made no sense at all. I just said I wasn’t interested and ended the call. Later I checked it out and turns out it's a scam - they've been going around with this number since last summer, changing the story but always trying to speak to the manager. Proper dodgy!

Someone said they were from 118 online. I answered and there was like a 3 second gap before they spoke. As soon as she asked if I was the owner of the business, I just ended the call.

I got a call from this number 01865 817899, and it was a prerecorded message with an American accent saying it was from Discount Utilities. Checking their website, discountutilities.co.uk, the only contact listed was a mobile, 07968 186482, which oddly seemed to divert calls outside the UK. After a brief moment, the call had a weird tone change. The site didn't have any owner info or proper contact details either. Looking into it, there was a firm called Discount Utilities Ltd registered back in 2013, but it was dormant and got removed from Companies House in April 2018. I’d recommend not answering calls from these numbers as it feels like a dodgy or scam operation.
