Got a call earlier claiming to be from BT, but it was definitely a scam. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

I got a phone call from some call centre claiming that although our broadband is with Virgin Media, all internet actually goes through BT, and apparently our connection was under some kind of attack. When I asked for proof they said they’d patch me through to Virgin. Then I ended up speaking to a very polite woman with an Indian accent who kept telling me I was being hacked. She was really convincing and polite, which makes it pretty scary for people who might not know any better.

Got a robo call warning me that my BT internet service was about to cut out. Thing is, I’m not even a BT customer! So I just went ahead and blocked that number straight away.
