I got calls from a new number 048893 along with 01276, both on my landline and mobile. Turns out it was the same scam both times. When I called them out on it, the person got really rude and abusive.

I picked up and just said “hello”, the person only replied “hell” then they cut the call straight away.

this morning i got a call from 01276310868, some bloke saying he was steve from btre, telling me there was an issue with my internet. what’s weird is a few days ago the same guy rang me from 01926514804 with exactly the same spiel. told him if there was any problem i’d ring my actual internet company - he just dropped the call. then this afternoon that same number called again but as soon as i said ‘hello’ they just ended it straight away.

I’ve had a couple of calls from 01276310868 within just an hour. Each time, they hung up without leaving anything on my voicemail. Seems it’s either some pointless call - though why keep ringing then? - or probably a sales or call centre trying their luck.

Got a call earlier from someone with an Indian accent who said his name was James, which I found a bit funny. Claimed to be from BT Openreach but I wasn’t buying it. Told him straight up he was trying to scam me, he just chuckled and then ended the call. Really sick of these dodgy calls all the time.

They dialled my number two times today but never left a message on my answerphone. Glad this site helped me figure out it was just a scam. Cheers!

when i picked up and said hello a few times, nobody replied. then outta nowhere an automated lady’s voice came on saying ‘thank you for your call’ and the phone just went dead.
