7 yearsI received a call from this number and, upon picking up, was met with nothing but silence. Naturally, I decided to return the call in case it was someone I knew. To my surprise, a chap answered, genuinely taken aback when I informed him that he’d just tried to reach me. I'm no stranger to nuisance calls, but this one gave off an odd vibe, so I sought to report it. However, it turns out I can’t be deemed a victim in this scenario, which is quite frustrating. I learned that it's quite common for numbers to be hijacked for these pesky cold calls-apparently it’s referred to as "cloning" the individual's phone, as ActionFraud explained to me. No one seems to care about these issues unless you actually hold the phone that’s been cloned.
