Called from 012758 33879 at 8.40 on Saturday 25 March 2023, gave me a ring in Edinburgh but I hadn't asked for it. I picked up and they just dropped the line straight away. Sounded like a call centre buzzing away in the background so I reckon it’s a scam. Watch out! I've blocked and deleted the number already!

He insisted that my call blocking service was set to expire today and urged me to renew my contract post-haste. He attempted to convince me that his firm was affiliated with the likes of BT and TalkTalk. It didn't take long for me to suspect that this was a fraudulent attempt, and as I probed him with some questions, he abruptly hung up. How typical!

Got a call from someone saying my scam protection was about to run out and I needed to renew it. When I challenged him, asking why he’d choose scamming people instead of doing something legit, he just cut me off. The guy sounded like he had a South Asian accent, so I doubt he was actually in the UK, even though the number showed as 01275-833879. I’m surprised BT haven’t done more to block these calls by now.

Around 1 in the afternoon, I got a call from someone saying they were from a company helping with call blocking for my landline to stop nuisance calls. They gave their name, but I forgot to jot it down. Funny enough, they never asked for anyone specifically by name. When I asked them to confirm which provider they were representing, they suddenly couldn’t say and just ended the call. Quite suspicious, don’t you think? :)
