I got a call from an 0208 number the other day, with someone saying they were from “telephone preference management” - which I don’t think is even a real thing. They tried to trick me into giving them my bank card’s expiry date, saying it was to “reactivate my membership”. I wasn’t falling for it and obviously didn’t share any details.

Got a call from someone saying they were from a telephone preference scheme which I’m already signed up to. They then asked for my name and debit card expiry date which I gave them. Next, they demanded my sort code and bank account details. I said no, and then suddenly some “manager” came on and pushed for the same info. I told them to stay on the line as long as they wanted but I wasn’t handing anything over. Eventually, I just ended the call. The whole thing was really pushy and a bit scary, and they kept calling me “mam” which was just annoying.
