What an interesting turn of events! Earlier today, I encountered a rather obvious marketing ploy from a company called TechIsOnline, which was pushing a computer upkeep service. Can you believe it? This chap, 'Jack,' had the audacity to claim he obtained our phone number via the Telephone Preference Service! What a cheek!

We also received a call from them where they claimed there was a virus on our computer. I spoke to a chap with a rather odd accent who tried to explain who they were. We know a thing or two about computer viruses, so we just humoured them for a bit. After some back and forth, we managed to get in touch with a supervisor and firmly requested that they cease contacting us. Otherwise, I might have to consider pursuing legal action for harassment.

I recently received a call from Techonline claiming they could assist with some alleged issues they'd 'discovered' on our computer. They suggested we type "techisonline" into the run box on our device. Naturally, we opted not to follow their instructions. Instead, we took the liberty of looking up their name and found a plethora of warnings online about this being a potential scam. As a result, we didn't make it easy for the caller; I ended up confronting her with some of the negative reviews, even sharing YouTube videos that expose such schemes, and consistently probing the intentions behind her company's claims. Was that out of order?

I had a rather similar encounter earlier today with a chap who had a distinctly Indian accent. He was incredibly persistent, insisting that we weren’t safe. He asked for her number so he could call back, and after that, I decided to look up the number and found your website.

We encountered a remarkably similar scenario ourselves just earlier today. It's astonishing how many others have shared their tales here. After posing quite a few inquiries, the entire situation felt a bit dodgy right from the get-go. When these callers insisted that we visit a website to grant "their Microsoft certified technician" access to our machine, we firmly told them to shove off and not to waste our precious time. A massive thank you for shedding light on yet another scam artist! To everyone reading this, stay vigilant!

I've just squandered a good chunk of my time on a call from an anonymous number and, whilst I'm not particularly tech-savvy, I could smell something fishy the moment I figured it all out. I felt rather disheartened, to say the least, and couldn't help but reach out to BT, our internet provider, to express my frustrations. It's quite dismaying to think that these scammers are preying on other older folks like me who might be less aware of such tricks.

I've had the very same ordeal today! The caller's name is 'Eric' but we have our doubts about that being their real name. It's quite reassuring to find this discussion as we're eager to uncover what's really going on here, and rest assured, we're not about to divulge any personal information!

Received a call around 15:35 on the 15th of December, 2009. The caller had a rather thick accent which made it hard to understand, but they seemed to imply that our computer had picked up some sort of harmful virus. We struggled to make out exactly what they were saying, but we did note down the phone number they called from. When we rang them back, a woman on the line told us to ignore the previous call. Quite odd, really!

I've received four calls from 01274900113, all claiming to be a help centre associated with Microsoft. They say our computer has flagged a virus, but surely it wouldn’t be able to disclose our phone number, would it? Sounds like a scam to me!

I recently received a call from an individual with a distinctly Indian accent. After discussing with my partner, we decided to pass them on to 'support' when they attempted to connect a technician with our computer. From the outset, it seemed rather dubious, so I escalated the matter to Christine Watson, since I had seen a similar warning from another user about requesting 155. It quickly dawned on me that this was nothing more than a scam, prompting me to hang up. It's crucial to never connect to, or share any sensitive information regarding computer security or passwords with unsolicited callers. The number in question is 01274 900113.
