I asked where they were calling from and they said it was for some “way of life survey” about Stamford. I told them I wasn’t giving any info or answering questions. They just got rude and hung up.

They’ve rung me twice in just 15 mins. I’d only just finished filing a complaint on ico.org.uk about the first call. Now I’ve reported the second one as well, quoting the reference number OFCOM gave me last week. Honestly, I’d even vote for the Monster Raving Loony party if they guaranteed to get rid of these nuisance callers. If you use Giffgaff on a mobile contract, try to keep the caller chatting for as long as you can. Be polite, but don’t share anything real. Ask them to repeat things just to drag the call out - it does require some patience, I won’t lie. Eventually, let them know you’re with Giffgaff, and you’ll find out they’ve just ended up adding free credit to your account without you doing anything! The longest I managed was 45 minutes, and that was with an energy company. Just hang up when you’re done, it always gets the job done. Hope this little trick helps others as well!

I picked up and some bloke with an Asian accent, calling himself Sam, told me to be quiet straight away. Seriously, how come BT hasn’t blocked this number yet?

I phoned them back and asked who they were, and they said it was a survey. I ended the call because they keep ringing then dropping it right as you answer. If it's really a survey, maybe they’re checking which homes are empty most often, which might explain the quick hang ups. I reckon if you call the same number at set times daily, you might figure out the best time to call again. Just a guess though.

They ring at pretty much the same time every day for a few weeks straight, then stop for a while before starting up again about three months later. Now I just ignore any calls that come through around that time.

I figured I’d turn the tables on them. They ring me and drop the call right when I pick up. So now I’m ringing them back and hanging up as soon as they answer. Imagine if everyone did that - bet it wouldn’t be long before THEY’D be the ones getting [email protected]@ed off first!

Just had a bloke from India ring me. Said he wasn't selling anyting and if I did a quick survey, he'd take my number off his list. I hung up, but he rang straight back like an eager beaver to push me to finish the survey. Told him to stop calling and to piss off.

got a call from an asian bloke who said he wasnt selling anything just wanted two minutes and asked what tv company I had like virgin or sky. I said if its not a sales pitch or survey then why ask about my provider? he got a bit irritated and told me to enjoy all the calls Id be getting, sounded like a threat. there should be some government body like ofcom to put a stop to this rubbish nagging.

This number rang me again earlier today. Every time it calls, it just cuts off after a few seconds which is pretty annoying. What worries me the most is my elderly grandma lives in Bradford and has this code on her phone, so I’m always scared it might be a doctor, a neighbour, or a carer calling with some bad news. It’s really stressful waiting for the call to be something important.
