10 yearsI reckon we've just fallen for something, haven't we? Not quite sure what my next steps should be. I feel absolutely foolish, to be honest. Everything appeared so convincing!11 yearsCheers for sharing this. We're in the process of seeking a refund. It’s a bit of a nightmare, really. We feel rather foolish, to be honest. We’re hoping this serves as a wake-up call so we don’t fall for it again. Let’s hope these relentless scammers are brought to justice. To anyone out there reading this, our internet provider has advised that legitimate companies shouldn’t be making unsolicited calls like this. Be on your guard and don’t engage with them! Stay safe!11 yearsI received a call earlier today from an overseas chap claiming there were issues linked to Microsoft that needed sorting out. Apparently, he said he could resolve them for me. Just a heads up, folks-these scammers are still very much active!Microsoft11 yearsI regret to hear you've had a similar experience to ours. I've chalked up the lost funds to a lesson learned; it seems there was no chance of getting a refund. (These folks appear to be in it solely for a quick scam, and that's precisely their modus operandi.) Since we re-installed the hard drive, we’ve had no issues whatsoever, but do take care to back up all your important data, including documents and photos, or you could end up losing everything. (I saved my files onto a DVD and a USB stick just to be safe.) Wishing you the very best. Cheers, Solomike.Solomike12 yearsWe tried to get hold of log4rescue on 01274790083, but surprise, surprise-no one picked up! It certainly looks like they've taken their cash and legged it. The BT technicians had a look at our computer, and everything seems to be in order on that front. So, I feel we've done our due diligence. We've already taken care of any security concerns with our bank, so it's a valuable lesson for us. I can’t help but wonder what their next move will be. Be cautious, everyone!12 yearsApologies, it appears you’ve encountered the same unfortunate situation we did. I’ve chalked up the financial loss to a hard lesson learned, as it seems there was no chance of getting a refund. (These folks are clearly in it for the scam; it’s just how they operate.) Since I reinstalled the hard drive, everything’s been running smoothly, but do remember to back up your essential files, documents, and photos before proceeding, or you risk losing them entirely. (I took the precaution of saving everything onto both a DVD and a USB drive, just to be safe.) Wishing you all the best! Cheers, Solomike.Solomike12 yearsSo, we gave it a go trying to connect with log4rescue at 01274790083, but surprise, surprise-no-one picked up! It honestly seems like these folks have just pocketed the cash and vanished. The tech support from BT has taken a look at our computer, and everything appears to be in order. It seems I've done my bit to resolve this, and we've already patched up any security concerns with our bank. Well, there’s a lesson in this for sure! I’m left wondering when these people will bother to call back, if ever. Just a word of caution to everyone out there!BTSubmit Your Own Report (01274 750083)
