I got a call warning me about some suspicious activity on an account, but they never said which one. They asked me to press a button, but I just hung up and looked up the number here instead.

Someone called me claiming they were from BRITISH TELECOM, saying my BT service was going to get cut off soon. I actually use EE, not BT (even though EE runs on BT’s network), so I had a feeling it was a dodgy call. I just ended it there. I was a bit surprised the number showed up as a proper landline, but I guess these days scammers are pretty bold and don’t even bother to hide.
