I've just received a rather dubious phone call from an individual of Asian descent who purports to be affiliated with Windows. He was insistent that I download certain software so that a technician could remotely access my computer. As if I would fall for that! Absolute nonsense!

Received a rather curious phone call today, purporting to be about my Windows operating system. Naturally, I told the chap I wouldn’t be engaging in any discussions about Windows with him. He had the audacity to ask me why. So, I explained that for one, genuine colossal companies like Microsoft don’t bother with cold calls. Secondly, charlatans like him, pretending to represent them, are clearly up to no good. I suggested he scram back to Eastern Asia where he belongs and try earning a legitimate wage, rather than attempting to dupe unsuspecting folks. Honestly, the nerve of some people!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft Office, saying I needed to log into my computer to sort out some issues. The caller couldn’t explain when I supposedly reported any problem. When I said no and wouldn’t log in, they started being really rude and called me names before just hanging up. Definitely don’t think this was a legit call with that kind of awful attitude.

Just like loads of people here, I got this call from a woman with a foreign accent who couldn’t hear me properly. After a few tries, she just hung up. Typical spiel really - one of those "I’m calling from, uh, Microsoft" scams. It’s pretty funny how they try to keep you talking without any clue who they’re actually calling. They usually have to pause and look at their notes before dropping the “Microsoft” line. You’d better not trust them if they want you to carry on!

The first time she called, it was a different number and she said her name was Victoria (definitely didn’t sound like a Victoria at all). thanks for sharing this info. i keep getting nonstop scam calls about “my laptop” or something like that. after falling for the first one from 0015865850144 - which keeps calling now and then - plus 001342891548, ive started ignoring calls from unknown numbers. sad to say, sometimes i do get tricked by calls showing as withheld or no caller id. lucky i wasnt home for this latest one. if it had shown a uk number, i probably would have picked up!
