However, despite explaining to them that I live in a rural area with no cable or fiber optic lines available, they insisted that their service would still work. I tried explaining that having a copper cable miles away from the nearest exchange would only provide limited broadband access and switching phone companies would have no impact on that. Unfortunately, they failed to listen to reason and eventually I had to hang up on them.
