Today, I got a rather strange recorded call from a woman's voice urging me to hit button 5 immediately as I supposedly had an unclaimed pension plan bonus of £1000 waiting for me. She didn't mention the name of the company at any point, which was a bit odd. Naturally, I pressed 5 out of curiosity and was connected to a chap who inquired whether I had a personal pension or one through my employer. He attempted to pass me to some sort of help desk but abruptly disconnected when I probed further about their identity. Quite unsettling, to say the least!

I suspect this is part of a pension scam. These folks have been ringing me daily. Local councils are putting out alerts regarding them. It baffles me that, given the wealth of information available online about this number, no action seems to have been taken to arrest anyone. I've gone ahead and reported it to the ICO once more.

I received a call from a number that popped up as Rewari in India on my smartphone's map feature. It seems they've either cloaked their actual number to make it look like a UK one or possibly have some similar numbering system over there. Regardless, it appears that the Telephone Preference Service is powerless in tackling these international nuisances.
