What really unsettled me was that this call came through to my 82 year old mum right in the middle of the night, about 12:30am! She kept asking who it was but there was no answer at all. Later on, I phoned the number myself to let them know that if this sort of threatening behaviour carries on, I’ll be reporting them to the police.

The number seemed like it was from a UK area code but couldn’t be called back using 1471 > 3. Proper obvious cold-calling under the guise of "market research" - they were asking loads of nosy questions about funeral stuff, home appliances, and personal care. Feels like they’re fishing for info to pass on to some scammy third party trying to sell us dodgy stuff.
