Got a ring from some bloke with an Asian accent who was struggling with his English, saying he worked in the "scam department" for (card machine). Totally dodgy call, of course. Honestly, I should’ve just ignored it once I saw the +044 number pop up. How the heck do these calls keep getting through when loads of folks have reported them? It’s madness! No surprise the country’s in a state when we can’t even get a handle on these scammers.

I've been getting calls from this number, or slightly different ones, for more than a month now. The few bits I caught sounded like they were talking about some card machine I don't even own. Each time, I end up blocking the number.

This number has been bugging me non stop about swapping out a card reader. I never had one, and certainly don’t want one. They won’t take no for an answer. It started on 1st Jan 2025 but I’ve noticed calls from similar numbers popping up since November 24. Proper annoying and feels dodgy to me.

My colleague spent over seven minutes telling them politely that we weren't interested in switching our card reader, probably saying no about 25 times. Still, they just wouldn't back off or accept our refusal. I found the whole thing really pushy and annoying. Proper bullying behaviour if you ask me.

I had a call from someone saying they were from "Worldpay" pushing me to get a card machine, which I don't want or need. Then suddenly they switched to offering to change my electricity supplier, and after that it was something about my water provider. Honestly, I could barely catch what he was saying, it was all so confusing.

Sounds like one of those dodgy calls - the person's accent was so thick I could barely catch what they were saying. I reckon they were trying to push some kind of card reader on me. I work as a financial adviser, so I definitely don't need one. Maybe it's a legitimate company, but I doubt it since I didn't understand most of the call. Any real business would hire people who can speak clearly and probably focus on clients actually interested in card readers, not just anyone they can ring up.

Got a call from a polite Asian woman, sounded Chinese. She gave her name and the company she represents but spoke so fast I couldn't catch it. She was ringing about a new card payment machine. I asked who she was with and if I could compare, but it just felt like one of those scams that are everywhere at the moment.

Got a call earlier from someone trying to sell me a card reader for my business. These days, I get tons of calls like this and honestly, I’m never sure if they’re genuine or just another scam. Now I just cut the call off and block them straight away because I’m fed up of having to explain over and over that I’m not interested. Same as others have said, it was a woman with a thick accent and her English wasn’t great either.

He spoke English, but barely! I struggled to understand what he was saying - something about parts for machines, I think. Either way, felt like a scammer to me. No proper business would hire someone like that to ring people. Watch out for calls like this.
