I got a call from someone claiming they were from BT, asking me to call a mobile number to verify some info. I told him straight up that it sounded like a scam, and he went, "Jesus Christ, no." Didn't seem likely to me that a proper company would handle things like that. Throughout the call, he kept saying he was a genuine guy from London but had an Indian accent. Felt really off.
