Honestly, it’s clear they’re just trying to rip you off. Best thing to do is simply hang up and block the number straight away.

A few weeks back, this number rang me up claiming to be from the tax security department. When I rang them back, I was left waiting on hold for nearly 45 minutes before an impatient woman with a thick African accent answered, and she was really rude. I wouldn’t believe this call is from a genuine source whatsoever.
