The phone went off, and I picked it up within a couple of rings. As expected, there was that typical pause you get with call centres while the automated system sorts out an agent for you. After a brief two-second connection to the operator, silence reigned from both sides. I didn’t utter a word, and neither did they. The call was cut short after just two seconds of this awkward silence.

I've received a rather peculiar series of phone calls-three times, precisely on the hour mark, over the last few hours. Each call seems to originate from a cluster of lines associated with the number starting 0127 400, but the last four digits vary slightly each time. It certainly seems like a deliberate and possibly automated campaign to bombard me with calls. The frequency is quite bothersome and feels rather intrusive. Yesterday alone, I endured three similar calls. This sort of thing really ought to be addressed and put to a halt.
