I got a call from a company named Purity who said they were ringing on behalf of Greenpeace. This was Greenpeace reaching out. Please be gentle with them. I had a quick chat with the lady at the end because my own son has done similar charity calls, so I get how tough it can be. She told me she’s just about to finish her nursing degree. Actually, she said she was phoning from the hospital where she’s studying and working to help fund her nursing studies. So there she was, dedicating herself not only to helping people who really need it now, like herself, but also to protecting the planet - a massive issue that’s very much ongoing and will be around for a long time.

Cheers for clarifying that it's Greenpeace. From what I gather, it’s actually a third-party company calling on their behalf. I spoke with them last year and ended up boosting my donation. Im all for what Greenpeace do and happy to be a member, but under GDPR they have to ask how we want to hear from them, like email, post, phone or not at all. If they dont know us, they shouldnt be contacting us anyway. When I signed up I only asked for emails and im really annoyed by their constant annoying calls. Got a call at 5.10pm on 04.03.19 from someone with an indian/pakistani accent - same old story. Claimed to be from Domestic & General (which is obviously a lie). Said our washing machine warranty had run out (even though we bought it only 4 months ago). I played along a bit - asked where they were calling from, they said Brighton, then asked for their address. Suddenly the line went dead. You’d think there’s tech out there to track these calls and stop this nonsense - for every 100 times you ignore them, they probably scam one poor elderly person. This really isn’t funny anymore.
