It's Greenpeace calling. I'm fairly new to donating but they keep phoning every couple of days trying to get me to give more. I don't want to stop donating because they do important stuff, but I really don't like the way they keep ringing and making me feel bad about not giving more. I’m done answering their calls now. Also, they always seem to call when I'm busy at work and then act all annoyed when I say I can't chat.

It was Greenpeace, or someone working for them anyway. I picked up while I was out shopping but wasn’t really in the mood, so I just kept it brief and didn’t feel bad about it. Looks like they’re probably trying to persuade folks like me to up their monthly contributions. They’ve rung a few times since then, but I reckon it’s best to ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise. If it’s really urgent, they’ll leave a message.

For sure it’s Greenpeace. I’ve been signed up for about 20 years and they called me a couple years back using a different number. The callers are really persistent and clearly know their script inside out, making it hard to say no without sounding rude or blunt. They seem to take advantage of Brits not wanting to cause a scene, so you end up off the phone feeling a bit worn down! I’m torn because the cause is worthwhile, but the calls themselves feel like harassment.

They mentioned they were ringing 'on behalf' of Greenpeace. Maybe they were. I've had problems before with folks being 'sub-contracted' on behalf of some group or another. This phone number isn't listed on Greenpeace's official UK site: [#]greenpeace.org[###], so I rang one of the contact numbers there, and a lady confirmed it was one of their fundraisers in Brighton, a firm named 'Purity'. So it looks legit, I suppose. Hope this is of some use.

Missed a ring from this number, no voicemail or nothin. Sounds like one of those call centres to me. I've been backing Greenpeace for more than 20 years now, and while these calls can be a bit irritating, we gotta remember they do loads for the environment. They've achieved plenty and really deserve our support. So yeah, it's a pain but I'm not stopping my donation anytime soon.
