I’ve turned down calls from this number on several occasions now, yet they persist. I suspect that this all started ages ago when I answered one of their calls, and now they’re convinced mine is a legitimate number, hence their relentless attempts. If I were to wager a guess, I’d stake my money on the notion that this is indeed some sort of scam.

someone rang me pretending to be from carphone warehouse offering a better deal on a sim. i told them i’ve never dealt with carphone warehouse before, so i had no idea why they’d be calling me. the lady was quite nice and even knew my name, but didn’t press me for any other details after that. still feels a bit dodgy tho, could easily be a well done scam!

Got a couple of calls from 01273936188 this morning but when I answered, all I could hear was silence. They left a voicemail too, but there was no message on it. Decided to block the number.

I've registered my mobile with the TPS to avoid these types of calls, and as far as I know, it’s never been shared with any company I’ve dealt with. Seems like it shouldn’t be on any business list at all.

I've put them on the do not call list with TPS and reported to Ofcom, but they just won't stop ringing. Probably because I picked up a few times, they reckon the number's legit and keep at it.

this number called me a few times, 2 times yesterday and once again just now. but as soon as I answered they hung up immediately! looks like spam to me, should I go ahead and block it?

I received a call from this number, and they inquired about my phone bill amount, claiming they were assisting me with an upgrade. I thought it was odd, as they presumably should have access to that information already. When I questioned why they needed to ask me this, they referred to it as a ‘safety check’ related to data protection, which struck me as rather peculiar. I pointed out that they ought to be verifying my identity with my personal details first instead of probing into my payment and bank information. At that point, they simply ended the call without further ado. To make matters worse, they rang me up again just three days later. I recommend everyone be cautious and consider blocking this number!
