Had a call from these dodgy lot about insurance for my washing machine. Mine’s been running perfectly fine for 35 years without any warranty! They claimed to be from Home Plan Services down in Brighton, but seemed more like a scam trying to squeeze £89 out of me. Something about an office at 101 Garstang Road, Preston Lancs. Honestly, what a load of rubbish - couldn’t believe the nonsense they were spouting. Proper bunch of scammers!

Some bloke rang saying he was with Sky, telling me my warranty was out of date. I sussed it was a con straight away, so I played along a bit before telling him to jog on in no uncertain terms. Bit harsh yeah, but what else can you do when they’re trying to pinch your money? These scammers are just lazy b*******s, thinkin they can blag their way through life. Honestly, I wouldn't hire a sneaky prat like that for any job. Hope karma bites him, maybe his missus will get some payback!

Got a call on my landline from 01273 934535 in Brighton at around 5.11pm on 1st July 2019. I let my answerphone pick it up to see who it was, expecting maybe a message or some ID. Instead, nothing but silence before the line just cut off. Feels like one of those scam calls with fake or spoofed numbers to hide where they’re really ringing from. Honestly, the authorities should urgently step in and put a stop to these bogus caller IDs being made! It’s really getting out of hand.

I asked what company she was with and she got a bit irritated, saying she was from Sky Protect. She kept saying her firm was connected to Sky. But when I checked Sky’s website, the only provider listed for cover was Domestic and General, no mention of Sky Protect anywhere.

I got a call from a woman with an Eastern European accent who said she was calling from SKY about my insurance running out soon. She said they were sending new documents through the post but wanted to give me a phone number in case I had questions before the paperwork arrived. She kept pushing me to grab a pen and write down the number. I told her I'd just wait for the documents to come through in the post. After that, she got pretty pushy and started insisting I follow her instructions right away - so I just ended the call.
