Got a message on my voicemail on 19/12/2017, pretty much the same as what others have mentioned. Honestly, I just chuckled and thought, “Well, that’s odd!” Afterwards, I decided to search online to check if anyone else had this happen and whether I should expect a flood of calls. Good thing I did. Cheers to everyone sharing their experiences. For now, I’m just going to block the number and wait it out. If it rings back, I’ll be sure to report it.

Got a text and it seemed dodgy to me, so I decided to block the number just in case it was some sort of scam.

Some bloke called me twice using the name Shaun - which I’m sure is just made up. I ignored the calls at first, but when I rang back, he started shouting about me dodging taxes. He claimed I owed HMRC for the 2011 tax period. Threatening arrest and all that. I told him that’s not how it works in a proper country, and then he just hung up. Tried ringing him again but his phone was dead. Total rubbish. He was after £504 at first, then bumped it up to £594. What a muppet!

Just like everyone else says, I got a call from them and the voicemail was some automated message saying I’m tied up in some legal case and that my place was being watched. The message definitely wasn’t from a real person, and it seems pretty unlikely that a Brighton number would actually be ringing me for HMRC. My advice? Just block the number and don’t bother replying. It’s all rubbish.
