I got my car’s MOT done at the local garage today. Once I got back, it took less than a couple of hours before Kwik Fit was ringing me up... Of course, Kwik Fit are always on the hunt for your business since they already have your details from previous jobs. The annoying thing is, the DVLA allows Kwik Fit, you, me, and pretty much anyone else to access your MOT and tax details, as long as they know the reg number and what kind of car it is. Classic internet these days. Having open access to info can be handy when buying a car but also means you get bombarded with unwanted sales calls.

Got a call earlier from this number, some bloke named Ash asking me about my MOT. Seemed dodgy to me, said he couldn’t look it up because their system was down. Asked if I’d booked an MOT and with which garage. When I pressed him on who he was, he said he was from MOT headquarters! Sounded fishy, so I told him I wasn’t convinced. Checked the number on the internet, and it’s certainly from Kwik Fit. On their website it says (copied exactly) "If you got a call from 01273 764 065, it’s Kwik Fit regarding your MOT.
