I’ve had enough of those silent calls so I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number.

Received a call from this number a minute ago, bloke said his name was Rhys and that my washing machine warranty had run out but he could sort it for me straight away! I told him it was a load of rubbish since my washer’s 17 years old and the warranty ended ages ago, like 14 years back. Then he just hung up. Definitely dodgy, I’ve blocked him - seems like a total con artist.

Got a call from someone who knew my name and even my address, said it was about my washing machine. When I asked what it was all about, they just hung up right away. Felt pretty sketchy and annoying if you ask me!

Got a call from 01273762470 a minute ago but I don’t recognise this number at all. Normally I just don’t pick up if I don’t know the number but this time I answered and no one said a word, so I ended the call. I’ve saved the number just in case. Looks like it’s a Brighton area code, so it’s probably not someone I know personally.

Someone rang and actually listened to my BT answerphone message before saying who they were. I picked up and it turned out to be a reminder about my washing machine insurance needing renewal. We talked it through, and then he asked for my card info. I told him they should already have it recorded, but he said they weren't permitted to charge it without me giving permission. I found it odd since I'd always paid by direct debit anyway, so I didn't see why he was pushing a three-year cover deal. In the end, I just ended the call even though he kept trying to convince me to stay on.
