Got a call saying my Hotpoint washing machine was over a year old and I needed to renew some cover. Thing is, I only bought mine about 6 weeks ago and already got cover through AO, not this Brighton bloke ringing me up. Then they asked if I had other Hotpoint appliances, so I asked if they’d at least tell me what the coverage was for if it had expired. Seemed like just a dodgy try to get my bank details or sell fake cover policies. I didn’t hold back and told them exactly what I thought.

Got a call and they already knew my name, saying my washing machine's warranty was up. I just ended the call straight away since they tried this once before, asking me to renew the warranty on the spot. Thing is, my washing machine’s used and never actually had any warranty to begin with.
