Just got a call from 01273714083 at 12.44 today. I answered and some bloke asked if I was Miss xxxxx. Told him I wasn’t, then he just ended the call straight away! I reckon he was trying to get hold of my mum but she wasn’t home, couldn’t even say that before he slammed the phone down on me. Proper rude! I’m going to block this number for sure.

This seems to align with other experiences I've seen. Someone called me, addressing me by name, and proceeded to inform me that my washing machine's warranty was nearing its end, suggesting we chat about renewing it. I replied that I’d prefer a quote sent through the post, and he agreed before abruptly ending the call. Just to clarify, my machine is indeed covered until October, but certainly not by some random telemarketer!

Like many here, I got a call from someone calling herself "Victoria" from Premier Protect (not sure why they don't bother with capital letters). She was trying to sell me a washing machine warranty. When I asked for her contact details, she just ended the call. Bit disappointing that the government's proud of record low unemployment but that seems to mean people stuck in scam call centres. The woman's voice oddly reminded me of our local MP Elisabeth Truss - maybe she's finally found what she's meant to be doing. I’ve since reported the number to the ICO.

Received a call on the 13th of August, 2019, around a quarter past three. The chap claimed that the warranty on my washing machine had expired. He went on to suggest that I could get a discount on my three-year plan for just £225. Then, he had the audacity to ask for my debit card details! I told him outright, "Do you reckon I'm daft? You've just cold called me and expect me to hand over my debit card number?" He then had the nerve to accuse me of wasting his time before hanging up. What an absolute numpty!
