We just received a call from this number. I stumbled upon this site while browsing online and it appears that numerous others have encountered the same issue. We’ve tried ringing them back several times, but there’s never any response. Interestingly, someone mentioned that when they did get through, they were told it was the RSPCA. We know our mother has had some interactions with them, so that could potentially be accurate. I recently had a rather pleasant chat with a woman who had an incredibly warm and inviting manner. She proposed that I sign up for a direct debit of £12 a month to support what she described as a charitable endeavour in southern Kenya aimed at providing access to clean water. The project is apparently set to span a two-year period. I expressed my willingness to contribute on the condition that she could send me some written confirmation via email, or alternatively, if the details were available on the CAFOD website since she claimed to have obtained my information from them. Unfortunately, it seemed that she wasn’t able to assist with that. This left me feeling a tad suspicious, as it’s difficult to ascertain the legitimacy of such initiatives. After all, there’s no telling who ultimately receives the funds-you might as well be sending money to someone who merely has a phone line and a few underemployed graduates at their disposal.
