We just received a call from this number. I stumbled upon this site while browsing online and it appears that numerous others have encountered the same issue. We’ve tried ringing them back several times, but there’s never any response. Interestingly, someone mentioned that when they did get through, they were told it was the RSPCA. We know our mother has had some interactions with them, so that could potentially be accurate. However, considering I’m situated in the South West close to Wales, I'm quite puzzled as to why they would be calling us.

I got a call from a woman speaking really gently, trying to get me to set up a £12 monthly direct debit. She said it was for some new clean water project in South Kenya, which would run for about two years. I said I’d think about donating, but asked her to email me details or put the info on the CAFOD website, as she claimed she got my info from them. She said she couldn’t do that, which made me suspicious. I reckon it’s probably not legit - you never really know who’s on the other end taking your money. Could just be someone with a rented number and a few jobless grads working for them. Best to steer clear of this one. Caller identified as Charity xxx for South Kenya.

They claimed to be representing Great Ormond Street Hospital. They even gave us a customer service number, 020723931, and mentioned their address as 40 North Road in Brighton.
