I received a message from the number 01273655121 regarding an insurance renewal. The call was from an Indian woman working in a hectic call centre. I can't shake the feeling that it’s probably a scam.

Got a call about renewing washing machine insurance I never signed up for. Just ended the call straight away.

The call came from a woman with a faint voice who somehow knew my last name, but the connection was so poor they ended up dropping the call.

I just let it ring till the answer machine picked up, but they ended the call right away without saying anything. Seems to me that if it was a genuine company, they'd at least drop a message.

Just got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, clearly working in a bustling call centre. She hung up on me without a word! Honestly, these dodgy calls are such a bother.

The caller cut off just as my voicemail started, which seems to be a recurring theme!

I received a call from some blokes claiming to be from the warranty department for home goods. They asked for my address, and I promptly hung up.

I completely agree with that sentiment!

Yet another dodgy phone call, if you ask me!

I received a call from this number, but they were actually looking for someone else. When I mentioned that I wasn’t the person they needed, they quickly apologised and admitted it was a wrong number. Given how frequently I had been contacted by this same number for the individual they were seeking, I decided to ring them back from my mobile. Oddly enough, it appeared they don’t accept mobile calls, which struck me as rather peculiar. So, I then tried again from my landline and explained that someone had rung me earlier but the call had been cut off. They promptly asked for my name, to which I replied, “Well, you’ve got my number; surely you know my name?” They then requested my number again, and I provided it, only for the line to go dead. Lo and behold, a couple of minutes later my phone rang again. “Is this Mr. D*^*^****?” they inquired. “Yes...” I confirmed. Immediately, they launched into a spiel about a road traffic accident. I quizzed them, “Which one?” “The one from April last year,” they replied. I nudged them to continue, only to hear that I was allegedly entitled to £11,000. I was sceptical and asked, “What’s the fee to release this money?” They insisted it would merely be a payment of £800. They urged me to share my bank details to set it all up. In a cheeky move, I supplied fake details and suggested they could simply take the £800 fee and pocket £500 from my supposed £11,000, while banking the remainder for me. Their response? “F@@# you, mother@&*%r!” Honestly, I doubt they're going to be ringing me again anytime soon.

I received a call regarding the warranty on my washing machine nearing its expiration. They wanted to know my married name, which I haven't used in over two decades. To top it all off, I've just purchased a new washing machine!
