My mother received a rather unusual phone call from a woman, claiming she needed to inspect her flat for asbestos. Usually, her landlord takes care of such matters for all residents, so it struck us as odd that no other tenants had been approached about this. Furthermore, Mum’s flat isn’t even on the top floor! To add to our concerns, just this week, an individual visited a different tenant, under the guise of being there to fix her boiler, and ended up stealing £300 from her. This lady was quite vulnerable. While I'm not suggesting there's a direct link, it certainly raises eyebrows about the authenticity of the caller who reached out to Mum.
