Some guy called David, claiming to be from BT Openreach, rang me up saying that there were reports my internet was being used by unauthorised people and they could sort it out. I told him to try a more convincing story as this one sounded like a scam. He insisted it wasn’t a scam and warned that refusing help would actually leave me open to being scammed, but said I could hang up if I didn’t want assistance. Naturally, I ended the call then and there.
