Got a call from a bloke saying he was from some company - didn't really catch who exactly - offering to extend the warranty on my washing machine. I mentioned I wasn’t certain if it was still covered but he insisted it wasn’t insurance, just an extra warranty period. The guy spoke with a young British accent and knew my name and address, which was a bit odd. In the end, I just ended the call. I looked for the receipt afterwards and turns out the machine was bought way back in 2005!

I’ve just had the third nuisance call today! The first two pretended to be from Microsoft, with one of them hailing from Newcastle and the other from London. The last call ended abruptly as soon as my husband picked up. Quite frustrating, really!
