I had a feeling I was being roped into another one of those dodgy scams, this time regarding boiler insurance. It was eerily similar to the washing machine con I’ve heard about before. They claimed I had an existing policy with them, which is absolutely false, and insisted that Direct Debits had already been set up. They then asked me to "verify my bank information" to access some supposed discount on my premium. I repeatedly told them to look up whatever details they supposedly had on me-though, of course, they didn’t have anything at all!
