Even though it was a familiar area code, I found myself greeted by a robotic voice at the other end, regurgitating the same tired nonsense typical of scam phone calls. They claimed to be from some so-called International Bank Security (what a joke!) and were insisting that there had been an attempt to use my credit card for a ludicrous Amazon purchase. Then they wanted me to ring the number they provided. As if! Total nonsense!
