So a woman rang me up claiming there was some kind of grant for people in my area - she even knew my name! Apparently it was for replacing windows if they've been in for more than five years. I told her not to call again since we're on the TPS. Then she handed me over to a guy who insisted I couldn’t be taken off their list without giving them my TPS registration number. After hanging up, I looked it up on the TPS site and there isn’t any registration number anywhere. Plus, we’re definitely still signed up. Quite dodgy, if you ask me.

So, I got a call from someone saying they were from Vision Homes. The line had ages of lag which was pretty annoying, but the bloke had a proper clear British accent. After I asked a few questions, they just cut off the call like you'd expect. Classic.

I picked up and, surprise surprise, they just ended the call straight away. What's really weird is that this number isn't even registered anywhere!

They called me up using my name and claimed our area qualified for some sort of Green Funding Scheme. When I asked if this was backed by the Government, they said no. Basically, they're offering to swap out your old windows and doors, promising a discount since they supposedly recycle them. I reckon the prices must be marked up a lot to begin with! I told the person on the phone it was clearly a cold call from a business, and then they just suddenly ended the call. Isn't this against Data Protection rules or something? Seems dodgy to me.

I asked how he had my number since I’m on the do not call list, and he went on about cavity wall insulation like others have said here. I asked to speak to his manager, cos it all sounded dodgy. Ended up talking to a lady called “Daisy” who kept repeating the same spiel. I told them I’d be reporting it to the ICO and then just hung up.
