Strangely, she addressed me by name, even though I had registered with the Preference Service to avoid these nuisance calls. It’s quite frustrating, isn’t it? Got a phone call out of the blue from 01273 259550 about some survey for windows and insulation, saying there was a government grant involved. They said they were Vision Homes from Hove working with Warmer Homes Improvements. I couldn't find much legit info about either company online, apart from a Warmer Homes Group manager getting into trouble for scamming an old lady. Some review sites also said these lot are dodgy. When I asked them to send something in writing to confirm, they just wouldn’t do it.

got a call just before 10.30 this morning, the area code looked like it was from somewhere near brighton so it seemed like it could be local. didnt pick up though cause the number was new to me. i guess ill just add it to my blocked list like i do with loads of others. honestly, i dont get why phone companies havent sorted out a way to spot these dodgy calls quickly and block them for us yet.

Getting calls about private sector grants in the PO7 area really threw me off because I thought it was later in the day, not morning. The person on the phone had such a strong accent it was hard to understand what they were saying. Even though I’m registered with TPS, these cold calls keep coming through. Feels like it’s just another usual scam to me.

so I answered and this bloke starts asking if he’s talking to “mr.” but then uses my missus’s name! he claimed he was calling from some company offering grants for private properties around our postcode or something. said they had grant funds “reserved” for us. didn’t really get what it was meant to be about, sounded dodgy, like one of those scam calls. I just told him I wasn’t interested and ended the call. blocked the number straight away.

the caller kept insisting on talking to mrs., even tho clearly a man answered. as soon as i said it wasn't her, they just ended the call abruptly. really quite annoying and totally avoidable. there defo needs to be stricter rules on these cold calls. if the government focused on stopping these instead of cutting holiday school meals for kids from poorer families, they might actually get some respect.
