We kept getting loads of calls for some Mrs Hamley, who we have no idea about. So, we switched to the BT true call system and it’s been brilliant since then. But today, a call slipped through where the caller had to say who they were before they got blocked. Proper time wasters!

Got a call about discounted cavity wall insulation, new boilers and windows. Sounded too good to be true, turns out it’s a total rip off and a proper scam. Be careful!

A woman called, definitely not a robot, asking for "Mr Robinson." I told her he wasn’t here, and she just said sorry, wished me a good day, and then ended the call. Oddly polite for what felt like a scam call, but something about it still seemed off.

I got a call from a lady who was asking for someone, but she used their first name like it was their last name. Thing is, that person hasn't had this number for like 20 years! I wonder where she pulled that info from, some ancient list maybe? She wouldn't give me any details, so it seemed very dodgy - could be scammers, watch out!

I got a call from someone trying to sell me windows. They somehow had my phone number and name, which I don’t share publicly. When I asked where they found my info, they just cut the call. Very dodgy!

I’m usually not that bothered by random first calls, but once a number seems dodgy, I make sure to add it to my blocked list straight away. Got a call from a really polite English speaker who was chatting about replacing my doors and windows through some kind of government scheme. I just said no cheers and ended the call straight away.

I normally just let the answerphone pick up but was waiting on a call from the hospital so I answered quick. As soon as I did, the line just went dead - no one spoke. Maybe they hung up because the answerphone started at the same time, not really sure. Got a call from a lady mentioning something about a green deal. Since this number is registered with the telephone preference service, she really shouldn't have rang me. She sounded polite and quite clear, tried to connect me to someone else about a "government scheme". I told her I wasn’t interested in chatting to her colleague and asked her to just send me details instead, then ended the call.

Got a call yesterday from a local 01273 number. The lady on the line spoke English but the connection was terrible, kept chatting about something called the GREEN DEAL. Reminded me of a Scottish scam I heard about a few years back. I told her I’m on the TPS and she was breaking the rules for cold calls, then she hung up. At about 1:20 pm, I got a call from someone named Amanda, but my call blocker stopped it right away before I got a chance to find out why she was ringing. When I tried to ring back the number, TalkTalk said it wasn't recognised.
