I'm pretty sure my phone number isn't on any business directories related to me, and I've also made sure to sign up with the TPS to block these kinds of calls.

Got a call from someone pretending to be from the company that made my washing machine. They claimed my warranty had run out and they were trying to sell me a “special” deal, using info that didn’t even match my machine - probably from some previous victim. I asked if they could send the forms through the post, but they pushed hard to get my bank details over the phone. When I told him I didn’t even own that brand, he lost it, swearing and calling me all sorts for wasting his time. Just a heads up, this scammer spoke with a British accent!

Got a phone call again from someone claiming they could offer me a cheaper deal on my Beko washing machine insurance. They said it was about to expire, but I knew it was valid until 2020. Then they tried to get me to give my bank info but I just said no.
