Junk call!

I had an unexpected phone call from a woman with an Indian accent, who said she was representing the O2 promotions team. She proposed a two-year contract renewal along with an upgrade to an iPhone 14, claiming I could enjoy a 40% discount on my monthly bill. Quite odd, I thought! What's more, she requested my banking information. If she was indeed from O2, surely they’d have that information on file already, wouldn’t they? Very curious indeed!

I got a call from someone claiming they could help me cut costs on my O2 plan. When I asked if they were actually with O2, they said yes straight away. Luckily, the phone cut out on their end, but then they rang me back again. I just chose to ignore the second call.

Got a suspicious call from someone claiming to be from O2. Thing is, I'm not even an O2 customer, and I've never had a call from my actual network provider before. Feels like a phishing scam to me.

Got a call from some bloke with a dodgy foreign accent, pretending to be from a company he definitely wasn’t with. Total scam trying to fish out your details, probably planning to swindle money. Cops ain’t doing much about this, just the same old story.

They hung up way too quick and didn’t even leave a message. So, I just blocked the number straight away.

Claimed to be representatives from 3, they rang me up offering what seemed like a cracking deal on the newest phone for just £30 a month. However, when I mentioned that I was already tied to a contract, they insisted they could upgrade my phone at no cost. That was the moment I realised it was all a con.

I picked up a call where there was a bit of a pause, and then a chap with a thick Indian accent introduced himself as representing my network provider. Curious, I inquired which one, and he replied it was O2. The thing is, I’m not even a customer of O2, so it’s clearly a scam!

It seems that a certain Vodafone has reached out to me about some enticing new offer. However, the irony is that they clearly haven't realised I've not had an account with them for over five years. Makes me question the authenticity of this whole thing, doesn't it?
